Allure of the Seas has claimed Kelli and Anton- they have left Africa to sail The Carribean…

Kelli and Anton have joined Allure of the Seas, gone from African shores for the next nine months.

Allure of the Seas has just been named Best Cruise Ship by Travel Weekly readers for the second year in the row. But this isn’t just a cruise ship. With over 2000 staff, it’s an adventure that sails way ahead of the curve. Explore seven singular neighborhoods, from the winding paths of Central Park to the ultimate rush of the Pool and Sports Zone. Surfing. Ziplining. Ice-skating. 3D movies…..a huge range of entertainment, dining and wellness.

Gorgeous deck views....

Gorgeous deck views….

Sailing out of Port Everglades, The Allure is a mixture between a swimming city and an amusement park with its “Central Park” where more than 12000 real plants grow, the “Royal Promenade” which is designed like an English seaside resort and the many restaurants, cafés.

Oh My GOODNESS!…..There are Broadway-style shows, a comedy club, ice revues, acrobatic shows in the Aqua Theatre or you can gamble at the Casino Royale. You can dance the night away at “Blaze” or “Jazz on 4”. At the elegant “Dazzles” you can get dance classes during the day and enjoy theme parties and dancing contests.

Deck 15 offers….swimming pools and Jacuzzis, the H2O-Zone for children, a solarium, playing fields for basketball and volleyball, a climbing wall, miniature golf, two surfing simulators, a jogging track and a zip-line where you can swing on a line over the ship.

Of course Kelli and Anton will hardly get to do all that….!!

….they will be far too busy working extremely hard (as far as I can gather!) on Deck 5 and 6, the Spa and Fitness centre…

This huge fitness area is matched by one of the largest spas on a cruise liner. Yum, it can cater for doubles massages….bliss….

A world apart from normal life, Kelli and Anton will have a testing year of hard work and challenge, mixed up with a whole lot of FUN!

Kelli’s ship last year was the MS Statendam- a pretty little ship, seen here sitting next to Kelli’s glitzy new posting, big sister Allure!!!!

I am entranced…Romero Britto Art is displayed on board the Allure…

here is his painting of the ship…

allure by Britto

His iconic style of joyous pop art is very seductive…I am in love!

simple economy of line and color…POW!

An exciting year ahead for kelli and Anton, sailing through western and eastern caribbean ports…

About wineandwilddogs

Lin Barrie The Save Valley Conservancy stretches along the upper reaches of the great Save River in the south east of Zimbabwe. The Gonarezhou National Park laps against the southern banks of the Save River and between these two nestles the Malilangwe Wildlife Reserve. These three celebrated wildlife areas form part of the Greater Limpopo Transfrontier Conservation Area, (GLTFCA)- a unique wilderness jewel which is home to the “Big Five” (endangered Black and White rhinos, elephants, buffalo, lion, leopard) and the ”Little Six” (Klipspringer, Suni, Duiker, Steenbok, Sharpe's Grysbok and Oribi). Endangered African wild dogs, Cheetah, Brown hyena, Bat-eared foxes and a host of special birds and plants contribute to the immense variety of this ecosystem. Communities around the GLTFCA contribute to innovative partnerships with National Parks and the private sector, forming a sound base on which to manage social, economic and environmental issues. This is home to artist and writer Lin Barrie and her life partner, conservationist Clive Stockil. Expressing her hopes, fears and love for this special ecosystem with oil paints on canvas, Lin Barrie believes that the essence of a landscape, person or animal, can only truly be captured by direct observation. Lin Barrie states: “Through my art, and my writing, I feel an intimate connection with the natural world, and from my extensive field sketches of wild animals, people and landscapes, I create larger works on canvas. Lin's work is in various public and private collections in South Africa, Kenya, Zimbabwe, Australia, England, Canada, Sweden and the United States of America. She is represented by galleries in South Africa, Zimbabwe, England, Kenya and Florida, USA.
